When you live in a small apartment, you learn how to maximize every square inch of storage space available, and along the way, you may even find innovating new storage solutions that completely change the way you look at storage for good. Before moving into a studio apartment a couple of months back, I began mapping out my space, working out the best way to keep my things organized, specifically my beauty items. In a dream world, I'd have a mirrored vanity in my bathroom the size of a wall so that it could house everything in one place, but like Mick Jagger says, "You can't always get what you want," … or can you? After giving it some thought, I realized that while I didn't have space for another vanity in my bathroom, I couldn't say the same about my bedroom.
As I was planning out my sleeping space, I found I had an awkward spot on the wall and decided a mirror could do the trick. So I thought to myself, "why not make it a mirrored vanity?" After all, the first thing anyone tells you when it comes to small-space living is that vertical storage is everything, and this was my chance to put that advice to good use. So began my hunt for the perfect vanity mirror, and I'll be honest it — it wasn't easy. As one would expect, most bathroom vanity mirrors look like they belong, well, in the bathroom, so finding one that would vibe with my aesthetic while remaining in my price range took some searching. When I saw this vanity, I knew I had found "the one." The first thing that stuck out to me about this cabinet was its chic, modern design. Available in a crisp white or wood grain finish, this is one of the most stylish vanities I've ever seen. Unlike most bathroom vanities, this one has a clean-lined exposed shelf below the cabinet to keep certain products on display for easy access. As soon as I saw this feature, I knew that this is where I'd be showing off my pretty perfume bottles. And as far as the inside goes, this roomy vanity opens up to reveal three additional shelves with deep storage and more than enough room to keep all of my makeup, potions, and lotions neat and out of sight. Not to mention, it really completed my space better than any regular mirror ever could have.
Coming in at just under $200, this vanity isn't the cheapest on the market, but it may just be one of the best (and most stylish) investments I've made for my space. Aside from being a great storage solution, it's also a really fun conversation starter — almost everyone who's seen it has said something along the lines of, "I would've never thought of putting that in a bedroom!" or "I may need to do something like this in my space now, too!" What can I say, we're all just solution seekers at the end of the day, no?
